What We Are All About

Our Mission

A Light of Hope's Mission is to change the cultural trajectory for women in Haiti by empowering them to thrive (not just survive) and embolden them to be on fire for God while creating disciples in their community.

“You are a light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.  Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before all, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven.”

Matthew 5:14-16

A Little About Haiti

The beautiful country of Haiti sits on the blue waters of the Caribbean. Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere and is well known for its high rate of poverty and weather disasters that have devastated the country. However Haiti has amazing resources as well. The beautiful people of Haiti carry on in the face of great trials, they grow wonderful fruits and vegetables like mangos and avocados and Haiti offers beautiful mountains and beaches. A light of Hope has been called to serve the people of Montrouis and Mt. Kapyat. These areas lie in the middle of country on the West coast surrounded by the ocean on one side and mountains on the other. There is an active marketplace in Montrouis where many goods are bought and sold and Mt. Kapyat is filled with rich soil that allows their agriculture to thrive.

It is a privilege to work alongside the people of Haiti.
