The beautiful country of Haiti sits on the blue waters of the Caribbean. Although Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, known for its high rate of poverty and weather disasters that have devastated the nation, it is also rich in resources. The resilient people of Haiti, particularly the women, embody strength and perseverance in the face of great trials. They cultivate wonderful fruits and vegetables such as mangos and avocados, alongside the stunning mountains and beaches that Haiti offers. A Light of Hope is dedicated to serving the communities in Montrouis and Mt. Kapyat, which are nestled on the West coast, surrounded by ocean and mountains. Montrouis features an active marketplace where many goods are bought and sold, while Mt. Kapyat is blessed with rich soil that supports thriving agriculture.
